Why pro-life, pro-family Christians should never give one red cent to Jay Sekulow’s ACLJ…

Friday, July 16th, 2010

Yesterday I posted a blog entitled, “Fake Celebrity ‘Christian’ and ‘Conservative’ pro-life and pro-family leaders have only themselves to blame for Obama’s tax subsidized abortions!”

One of the counterfeit “pro-family” “Christian” groups I cited was Jay Sekulow’s American Center for Law and Justice (ACLJ.)

Minutes after I sent out the post to over 500 consevative and Christian pro-family and pro-life lawyers, leaders and pundits, I received an indignant request from Jay’s son, Jordan Sekulow to be “removed from the list.”

I don’t believe that I have to add to our subsequent exchange below.

I believe it is pretty self-explanatory…

As you read our exchange, ask yourself if you consider yourself to be a pro-life, pro-family constitutional Christian conservative if the Sekulow’s represent your core values and beliefs…

Jordan Sekulow

Remove me from the list Gregg

And by the way, we were against the Stupak compromise deal – very clearly, do some research Gregg – I know you have the time on your hands…

Me: No, Jordan.

You were copied for a reason. You are not on a “list.” And I won’t stop cc’ing you when I feel it is appropriate irregardless of your indignant and petulant requests.

I know this post I wrote must hit close to home since you worked for the man who unilaterally, illegally and unconstitutionally implemented sodomy-based “marriage” and signed into law $50 abortions (2 years AFTER his “pro-life conversion.”) Mitt Romney. His entire fully documented far left wing record is documented here. http://greggjackson.com/blog/?p=471 Anything not accurate in it, Jordan? How could you and your dad continue to support this man who signed the death warrants of thousands of babies in Massachusetts at $50 dollars each and claim to be a “pro-family Christian” as you and your dad claim?

And what reason do you have to be critical of ObamaCare’s subsidization of abortion given the fact that you are a proud supporter of the man who ushered in tax subsidized elective surgical abortions into law in his quasi-socialist healthcare plan, Mitt Romney?

P.S. As to your little snide comment about my having so much “time on my hands”: I actually don’t as I am keeping myself quite busy, you’ll be pleased to know, writing my next book on the counterfeit conservative and Christian movement in America and you and your father will have your own chapter dedicated to you so all grassroots Christians and conservatives can learn the truth about how you have lied and deceived millions (like when you both portrayed Mitt Romney as a pro-life, pro-family conservative for example) while you simultaneously enriched yourselves buying fancy homes and flying around the world on private jets, etc…So, between that and running my own business (not leaching off my father like some people) and raising a family, I am keeping pretty busy but appreciate your concern, Jordan. We can’t all be as fortunate as you, Jordan. After all, not everybody has a rich daddy like you do who can buy his son air time that he can use to rip off retired women on Social Security every day as you and your father do.

Jordan Sekulow: Remove from list or we’ll do our job. I’ve had enough of this, asked to be removed from this spam many times.

Anyone on this list 1) had a team in Pakistan defending christians against the death penalty 2) had bombs go off at rallies in Kenya because you’re fighting for the life of the unborn? 3) anyone ever been outside the US and seen the battles we’re facing against the pro-abortion establishment and radical islam?

Until you have, don’t criticize those who risk their lives on the front lines for these issues.

Remove me from the list or I take other steps.
Night all.

Me: You’ll “do your job” Jordan?

Yeah, I wish you would Jordan.

Really, I do.

I really wish you would stop lying and deceiving millions of Christians and conservatives by claiming to be “pro-family” “Christians” while portraying the Founding Father of sodomy-based “marriage” and the 50 dollar Romneybort as an authentic pro-family conservative. Will you start doing your job instead of compromising Biblical Truth and lying to millions of Christians?

You still have not answered my questions:

Why did you claim that you never supported the Stupak Amendment when a simple Google Search demonstrates that you and your dad did?

Your dad, Jay Sekulow said of the Stupak Amendment:

“The American Center for Law and Justice, a pro-life legal group, also applauded the vote.

“The passage of this pro-life amendment represents the only bright spot in an otherwise troubling government-run health care package put forth by House Speaker Pelosi,” ACLJ chief counsel Jay Sekulow told LifeNews.com.

“Sekulow gave kudos to Bart Stupak and Joseph Pitts “for their unrelenting efforts in protecting the unborn” but said, “Unfortunately, the leadership in the House has produced a disturbing and flawed health care package that not only fails to meet the needs of most Americans, but interjects an unprecedented level of government intrusion and bureaucracy into health care.”

You and your dad “opposed the Stupak Amendment, Jordan?” Seriously? That’s an outright lie. Do you have any clue what you are talking about?

And how can you criticize ObamaCare’s tax funded abortions when you still support the man who signed 50 dollar elective surgical abortions into law (Mitt Romney)?

Come on Jordan. Have the guts to debate and defend your position instead of threatening to sue or whatever it is you claim “you’ll do” when confronted with uncomfortable truths that reveal your duplicity and hypocrisy.

And by the way, anti-spam laws don’t apply to personal e-mails where you are cc’d. A simple google search would reveal that too.

Be a man and answer the questions asked honestly. Would think a public figure like yourself would not have a problem with that. Or will you only debate when you can control the mic?

Jordan Sekulow: Amendment. Yes. Compromise. No.

Political reality boys and girls – the pro-aborts outnumbered us and we wanted to do what we could to save some unborn lives. We have to work in the real world – you spend your time writing emails to people. Spend some time in the West Bank, Zimbabwe, Kenya (Christians being bombed at EACLJ rallies), and Pakistan

After that, you can comment.

Me: So you admit you knew that Mitt Romney signed $50 dollar abortions into law (2 years after his fake “pro-life conversion) when you went to work for him on his presidential campaign and endorse him for president? You mean it was your understanding Romney wasn’t a “pro-abort?”

And how would have supporting the man whose socialist healthcare plan that served as the model for ObamaCare (Mitt Romney) which subsidized elective surgical abortions on demand, “saved some lives, Jordan?”

Not really getting your warped rationale for working for and supporting the Founding Father of sodomy-based “marriage” and the $50 tax-payer funded abortion, for president of the United States, Mitt Romney…

And again, why did you lie when you said that neither you nor your father supported Stupak when you actually did?

Jordan Sekulow: We’ve been getting death threats, nails in our tires, war declared on us since I was a kid. Live in the trenches for a while boys – then comment

Me: Does “living in the trenches” include lying for pro-abort, pro-homosexual politicians like Romney? and does it include living in 3 mansions and flying around in your dad’s private jet? Sounds tough Jordan.

Jordan Sekulow: That jet has been on aclj tv shows since I was a little kid – never been hidden…As for Romney, Gregg it’s 2010 right? Move on to the next battle – don’t get stuck in the past my friend.

Me: No, Jordan. Romney is the leading GOP candidate in many polls and you and your father played a prominent role in elevating and validating his status. So, his candidacy and your support is still very germane.

So how can you reconcile your criticism of Obamacare’s funding for abortion when you supported the man who signed 50 dollar abortions into law, Mitt Romney?

And why did you falsely claim you and your dad never supported Stupak which would have funded abortions when a simple google search proves otherwise?

Jordan Sekulow: Remove me from the list Gregg. I don’t care about your debate between your friends. Remove me from the list – you spam, you know, remove me. It’s such a joke emailing any “sekulow” email you can to try and reach one of us.

Remove me from the list. I expect a reply by am tomorrow.

Me: Jordan, once again: you are not on any “list.”

I intentionally cc’d you since I cited your father on my recent blog post to provide you with an opportunity to respond.

I can understand why you have no further desire to communicate since you were unable to answer some very direct and I believe fair questions regarding your working and ongoing support for Mitt Romney (and hypocritical criticism of ObamaCare’s abortion subsidies) as well as your false statement made tonight that you (and your father) never supported Stupak when the record clearly reveals you did.

I guess your refusal to candidly discuss these issues is all anybody on this thread needs to know about your character and integrity…

If I have said anything untrue, please bring it to my attention and I will gladly correct the record…

Jordan Sekulow: I don’t want another email from you Gregg – you aren’t worth the time to debate with. If I receive another, I’ll move to other options.

Me: If I continue to press you about why you worked for and still support the Founding Father of sodomy “marriage” and the 50 dollar tax-payer funded abortion, Mitt Romney, for President of the United States, you will “move to other options” Jordan?

Give me a break…Grow up…

How about just answering the question as to why you and your dad (Jay Sekulow) still support the man (Mitt Romney) who…

• Illegally & unconstitutionally instituted sodomy “marriage.”
• Signed $50 tax-subsidized abortions into law (2 years AFTER his fake “pro-life conversion.”)
• Boosted funding for homosexual “education” starting in kindergarten.
• Opposes a ban on homosexual scoutmasters.
• Promised the homosexual Republican “Log Cabin Republicans” he wouldn’t oppose “gay marriage” in return for their endorsement.
• Instituted a quasi-socialist healthcare plan endorsed by Hillary Clinton, Teddy Kennedy and Planned Parenthood that destroyed the Massachusetts’ economy.
• Increased taxes and fees by close to a billion dollars which destroyed the Massachusetts’ economy and opposed the Bush Tax Cuts.
• Voted # 8 RINO by Human Events.
• Passed over Republican lawyers for three quarters of the 36 judicial vacancies he faced and nominated 2 open homosexuals.
• Criticized Joint Chief’s of Staff, Peter Pace for saying that homosexual acts were “immoral.”
• Supports passage of the Employment Non-Discrimination Act which would force churches and other religious organizations to hire homosexuals and transvestites or face criminal fines and prosecution.

Documented Proof Links here:

And if you can’t answer this simple question, perhaps your dad can. Surely he is never at a loss for words and can defend his continued support for Romney and past support for legislation (Stupak) that would have subsidized the deaths of 1000s of babies in the womb with tax-payer dollars…

Jordan Sekulow: You’re not uncovering anything – the support was public and in mainstream media. Gov Romney would and still could make a great candidate (My emphasis)

Remove me from the list – final email

Me: So Jordan you think that the man who compiled the radical far left wing record Romney did (below) would still make a “great candidate” in the future?

My bad, guy.

I thought you, your dad and ACLJ was actually pro-life, pro-marriage, and pro-limited government.

My bad…

I am sure that millions of Christians will want to know this in a national press release. Thanks for the quote…Now we know where you and your dad stand.

Thanks Jordan…Appreciate your candor…

Jordan Sekulow: You use that line, – my quote – please

Don’t forget, we’ve recently spent time with Governor Palin and other leaders of the grassroots conservative movement

Off of the list by am – this is SPAM

Me: Ok, thanks Jordan.

I will quote you in a national press release as saying that in spite of the fact that Romney illegally instituted sodomy-based “marriage” unilaterally, unconstitutionally and illegally and signed $50 dollar elective surgical abortions on demand into law (2 years AFTER his supposed “pro-life conversion”), (which you have not even attempted to dispute) that you and ACLJ still think that Romney “would and still could make a great candidate.” I am sure that millions of Christians will want to know where you stand. Once again, thanks for your candor.

By the way, here are the SPAM laws and you will see that they don’t apply to our e-mail conversation we are having. So you can save your impotent threats…My lawyer friend shared this with me a few months back when another conterfeit conservative public figure like yourself threatened to sue me for e-mailing him about something he had said on the air…

As it turns out, Jordan, accusing somebody of doing something illegal to a number of 3rd parties without any true basis, as you have done, is libel.

Spam is a legal term with a legal meaning. Anti-Spam Laws concern “commercial messages,” “advertisement or solicitation,” etc. Anti-Spam Laws are to prevent Internet marketing – not freedom of speech.

Truth-telling is still permitted in America … at least for the short-term. Your toothless threat to tattletale is silly. It was probably too much of an inconvenience for you, but a 3-second Internet search on Anti-Spam Laws (see below) makes it clear that I am doing nothing “illegal.”

Unlike what I have written, however, falsely accusing someone of doing something illegal to a number of 3rd parties without any true basis, as you have done Jordan, is libel.

Is your only response to the substantive issues I have raised simply to whine about receiving “spam” e-mails?

Don Hank: Gregg,
If what you say is true, then the whole Sekulow empire is based on a hoax and these people are taking people’s money based on a fraud. I wonder if that is legal? Particularly now that we all are witnesses to the fact that Jordan KNOWS the facts about the Stupak legislation and about Mitt Romney. He certainly can’t say “oh, gosh, Judge, I had no idea I was using false information to make my father’s organization look like it was pro-life. I actually thought Mitt was a real pro-lifer.”
At any rate, it would be good to have a brief article on this, with links etc. However, I know your book will give the details.
This is despicable.
Don

Don Hank: Jordan,
If I recall correctly, I gave money to your rich father believing he was a good man who was sincerely supporting a pro-life platform, among other things. His support for Romney makes me really angry, and also ashamed of myself for being so naïve.
When you say “move on to the next battle,” it seems like you want all of us whom you have conned over the years to forgive and forget.
I can forgive, but if I forget, then I am being irresponsible, because I have a duty to warn others about this scam.
As for the money you took, you really owe a lot of people and should pay it back.
Don Hank

The “Mt. Vernon Statement”: Nothing But More Counterfeit Conservative Hot Air…

Thursday, February 18th, 2010

Today some leading “conservatives” released what they are calling, “The Mount Vernon Statement: Conservative, Values, Beliefs and Principles.”

If you have not read it yet, I will save you the time. While the group of self-styled “conservatives” talk about the importance of “limited government” and “individual liberty” blah blah blah, the fact is that many of the leading signers listed either directly or indirectly supported the Founding Father of the $50 co-pay abortion and the man who ushered in sodomy-based “marriage” (illegally) to America, Mitt Romney, in the 08′ election.

Where they have the gall to lecture the grassroots on the principles of “constitutional conservatism” is beyond me.

Tony Perkins, President of the Family Research Council, for example, considers Mitt Romney to be a “friend to the pro-family movement,” has taken $ from Romney surrogates, and featured Romney a few months ago at his “Values Voters Summit.” (for the 3rd year in a row) in spite of the FACT that I possess a plethora of evidence which demonstrates that Mr. Perkins has been intimately aware of Mitt Romney’s fully documented far left wing social and fiscal record for quite some time.

Wendy Wright, the President of Concerned Women of America, actually has an autographed chair in her office in Washington D.C. that I sat in a few years ago (unknowingly until the end of our hour long conversation when she pointed it out to me) that she accepted as a gift from Mitt Romney in spite of the fact that she too was intimately aware of Mitt Romney’s far left wing social and fiscal record (that we discussed in her office that day).

David Keene, President of the American Conservative Union, has featured Mitt Romney 3 years in a row at Keene’s, “Conservative Political Action Conference” in Washington D.C. and has worked behind the scenes with other prominent “conservative” leaders to keep Romney’s name alive and viable for the 2012 election. Keene is also featuring Romney prominently this year at CPAC as a keynote speaker in spite of the fact that I possess a multitude of evidence that Keene too has been intimately aware of Mitt Romney’s far left wing social and fiscal record since Keene had me emcee the presidential sessions two years in a row at his event.

Ed Feulner, the President of the “conservative” Heritage Foundation has also featured Mr. Romney prominently in many of Heritage’s fundrasing efforts and has portrayed Romney as a Reaganesque conservative in spite of the fact that Mr. Feulner surely has done his homework and is intimately aware of Mitt Romney’s far left-wing social and fiscal record.

Kathryn Lopez of National Review also endorsed Romney for president and is still a staunch supporter despite the fact that I have the evidence that Ms. Lopez of National Review who endorsed “conservative” Mitt for President knows Romney’s entire far left wing social and fiscal record and has gone to great lengths to white-wash and suppress it in her regular nationally syndicated columns.

This so-called “statement of conservative values and beliefs” is merely more hot air from a bunch of self-important hypocritical and compromised inside the belt-way pseudo-conservative elite power brokers who have yet to realize how totally disconnected they really are from the true conservative grassroots base who actually believes in much of what the document purports to champion.

Mitt Romney’s Fully Documented Liberal Left-Wing Social and Fiscal Record

Sunday, February 14th, 2010

I find it absurd that so many celebrity “conservatives” and “pro-family” and “pro-life” Christians continue to promote Romney as a Reagan Conservative when Romney’s actual record shows that he is an across the board liberal. Barack Obama in a Reagan Costume.

Mitt Romney, Fiscal and Social Liberal:

• Unilaterally, illegally & unconstitutionally instituted same-sex “marriage” falsely claiming the “court ordered him to.” Proof here and here

• Signed the forerunner to Obamacare (Romneycare) into law which includes $50 tax-subsidized elective surgical abortions including late-term abortions into law (3 years AFTER his fake “pro-life conversion.”) Proof here

• Boosted funding for homosexual “education” starting in kindergarten. Proof here

• Opposes a ban on homosexual scoutmasters. Proof here

• Promised the homosexual Republican “Log Cabin Republicans” he wouldn’t oppose “gay marriage” in return for their endorsement. Proof here

• Instituted a quasi-socialist healthcare plan endorsed by Hillary Clinton, Teddy Kennedy and Planned Parenthood that destroyed the Massachusetts’ economy. Proof here and here.

• Forced Catholic Charities, the nation’s #1 adoption and foster care service to place children with same sex couples even though he was under no legal obligation to do so as even former Governor Michael Dukakis has acknowledged.

• Forced Catholic Hospitals to issue abortafascients including RU-486 (the “moring after pill”)and other “emergency contraception” even though they were legally exempt. Proof here

• Increased taxes and fees by close to a billion dollars which destroyed the Massachusetts’ economy and opposed the Bush Tax Cuts. Proof here

• Voted # 8 RINO by Human Events. Proof here.

• Passed over Republican lawyers for three quarters of the 36 judicial vacancies he faced and nominated 2 open homosexuals. Proof here

• Criticized Joint Chief’s of Staff, Peter Pace for saying that homosexual acts were “immoral.” Proof here

• Supports passage at the state level of the Employment Non-Discrimination Act which would force churches and other religious organizations to hire homosexuals and transvestites or face criminal fines and prosecution. Proof here

• Romney supported McCain-Feingold “campaign finance reform”, McCain-Kennedy “comprehensive immigration reform” (i.e. amnesty), and parts of the McCain-Lieberman “carbon cap and trade” bill and opposed the Bush Tax Cuts. Proof here

Mitt Romney and Scott Brown Supporter and “Conservative”Boston Radio Host Chuck Morse Admits That He Doesn’t Dispute Romney Illegally Instituted Same-Sex “Marriage”

Wednesday, February 3rd, 2010

Last week I was interviewed on the Chuck Morse Radio Show in Boston and we discussed the recent Scott Brown election to the Senate and why I believe it was a defeat, not a victory, for conservatism.

Chuck, who ran twice for Barney Frank’s Congressional Seat, also admits that despite supporting Romney, that he “doesn’t dispute” that Romney illegally institued same-sex “marriage” in Massachusetts or the fact that he signed $50-tax subsidized abortions into law.

Here is the interview

Please Tell the Truth Tony Perkins, Values Voters Deserve to Know

Saturday, September 19th, 2009

Link to press release on ChristianNewsWire

MEDIA ADVISORY, Sept. 18 /Christian Newswire/ — This weekend, leading Christian pro-family advocacy organization Family Research Council (FRC) will feature former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney as one of its featured speakers at its “Value Voters Summit.” www.valuesvotersummit.org Despite Romney’s unbiblical and far left-wing record as Massachusetts governor on the issues FRC claims to care the most about, FRC President Tony Perkins continues to refer to Romney as a “friend of the pro-family movement.”

That’s why we have authored the website www.tonyperkinstellthetruth.blogspot.com, because we believe someone claiming to stand for biblical teaching, as Mr. Perkins claims to, should have the integrity to tell the truth about the candidates he’s providing a platform to reach Christian voters.

“In Mitt Romney’s healthcare plan that he is applauding you can get an abortion for $50,” said noted GOP strategist Mary Matalin on 1040-WHO Radio in Des Moines, Iowa, on December 12th, 2007.

We would like to ask Mr. Perkins if Ms. Matalin is lying, and if she isn’t, do taxpayer-funded, $50 elective surgical abortions sound like a policy signed into law (2 years AFTER Romney’s supposed “pro-life conversion”) by a “friend of the pro-family movement?”

Please tell the truth, Mr. Perkins.

CNS.com reported on August 25th, 2008, that before the Massachusetts legislature had even had a chance to pass a law legalizing homosexual marriages (which they never did), Governor Romney unilaterally and unconstitutionally authorized the illegal alterations to and issuance of marriage licenses to homosexual couples, and even went so far as to demand that justices of the peace who wouldn’t perform homosexual “marriages” for moral reasons, resign. www.cnsnews.com/news/article/34561

We would like to ask Mr. Perkins if CNS.com is lying, and if it isn’t, does that sound like the actions of a, “friend of the pro-family movement?”

Please tell the truth, Mr. Perkins.

Attorney, scholar, and activist Phyllis Schlafly said Romney was claiming he had to “follow the law” when he unilaterally and illegally enacted homosexual “marriages,” but that “there is no law (in Massachusetts) that requires or even allows” homosexual marriages. www.wnd.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=56674

We would like to ask Mr. Perkins if Ms. Schlafly is a liar, and if she isn’t, does this sound like the actions of a “friend of the pro-family movement?”

Please tell the truth, Mr. Perkins.

In March of 2008, World Magazine reported the late Paul Weyrich admitted in a room of his peers at the Council for National Policy meeting in New Orleans, that he was wrong to have endorsed Romney for president. Weyrich is reported to have said, “Before all of you and almighty God I want to say I was wrong” and that it was “the worst mistake of (his) life.”

We would like to ask Mr. Perkins if Mr. Weyrich, one of the Founding Fathers of the Christian Conservative movement and Reagan Revolution, was wrong, and if he wasn’t then how can you continue to refer to the founding father of sodomy-based “marriages” and $50 tax-subsidized elective surgical abortions as a “friend of the pro-family movement?”

Please tell the truth, Mr. Perkins.

If you are attending the Values Voters Summit this weekend or would like more information, please visit www.tonyperkinstellthetruth.blogspot.com. Perhaps you can reach Mr. Perkins and ask him to tell the truth, since we have attempted to do so privately on several occasions over the last several years and all of our pleas to reach our brother in Christ have been ignored.

Romney Is Lying When He Claims He “Had To” Cover Abortions At $50 Each In His Healthcare Plan

Wednesday, July 8th, 2009

Since many potential 2012 GOP presidential candidates have essentially taken themselves out of the running over the past few weeks (S.C. Governor Mark Sanford and Alaska Governor Sarah Palin), many of Mitt Romney’s supporters have re-surfaced writing articles like this one (“Romney Rising”) in favor of the man whom counterfeit conservative Ann Coulter said was “manifestly the GOP’s best candidate” in spite of his fully documented radical left wing record.

One false claim the Romniacs consistently assert is that Romney had little choice but to cover abortions in his quasi-socialist healthcare plan, CommonwealthCare. The state Supreme Court, they argue, had ruled in 1981 that the Massachusetts Constitution confers on Massachusetts women an even broader right to abortion than does the U.S. Constitution. It restated, in a 1997 decision, they argue further, that the state must pay for medically necessary abortions if it pays for all other medically necessary procedures including services in connection with childbirth.

The court decision the Romney’s apologists cites is a 1981 MSJC decision that concluded that the state constitution required payment for abortion services for medicaid eligible women. (Moe v Secretary of Admin & Findance, 1981) which was re-affirmed in 1997 in (Planned ParenthoodLeague fo Massachusetts v. Attorney General, 1997). Both were only declaratory OPINIONS. The court can only interpret the law in specific cases. But they can’t make law. Only the legislature can do that. The Massachusetts Courts have no power to create, suspend, or alter law. In short, these opinions were just that… opinions. They were not orders. And the legislature never created any law that required any government subsidized healthcare plan to cover abortions. Romney’s bill was the first that included this provision.

Romney used his line item veto authority to strike down eight sections of the healthcare bill that he found objectionable, including the expansion of dental benefits to Medicaid recipients. But he did not strike Planned Parenthood’s guaranteed board representative role on his advisory board (with no pro-life representative appointee incidentally) and did nothing to prohibit tax payer funded abortions in his plan. (“Romney’s Health Care Vetoes,” Associated Press, 4/12/06)

Romney’s health plan (Commonwealthcare) that he signed into law (after his stage-managed “pro-life conversion”) covers all abortions with a $50 co-payment (abortion on demand), with no “medically necessary” conditions to it. That’s a HUGE difference the Romney folks conveniently ignore. Romney deceptively has argued that an “independent commission” was responsible for the tax subsidized abortions, but that is a lie intended to confuse people. Only the governor has the authority to sign laws into effect. “Independent commissions” appointed by the governor have no constitutional authority aside from what the governor himself ascribes to it. Ultimately, only the governor has the constitutional authoirty to administer and enforce the laws and statutes of the state over which he presides.

Sorry, but the “I’m not responsible for the $50 co-pay abortions in the healthcare plan I signed into law.. the independent commission is” alibi is pure tripe. Bunk. A blatant lie.

The 1981 court decision cited by Romney’s defenders only relates to that specific case, or at the most medicaid programs, not “all” publicly funded health programs. The Massachusetts Constitution does not allow courts to change laws, or to give orders to the Legislature.  In any case, the court didn’t “order” anything in this situation.

The bottom line is that Mitt Romney, and Mitt Romney alone signed Commonwealthcare into law that established abortion with a $50 co-pay as a healthcare benefit–something no liberal Democrat has ever been able to accomplish.  Perhaps this explains why it was endorsed by Ted Kennedy, Hillary Clinton and Planned Parenthood.

There was no statute or law prior to Commonwealthcare becoming law that mandated government coverage and funding for abortions.

When Romney and his apologists claim that Romney had no other choice but to include tax-payer funded abortions in his healthcare plan, they are lying.

Plain and simple.

By the way: Romney also lied when he claimed that he was only “following a court order” when he unilaterally, illegally and unconstitutionally authorized the alterations to and issuance of marriage licenses to same-sex couples without a binding, accompanying, enabling statute. Documented Proof Here

Update: My friend John Haskins of www.Undergroundjournal.net sent an e-mail to somebody who claimed that the “independent commission” Romney set up as part of his healthcare plan (CommonwealthCare) was responsible for covering abortions at $50 each and not Romney himself. Here is John’s reply which is well worth reading:

Tim,

I believe you have the facts wrong.  My recollection is that the $50 abortions were a pre-packaged part of what Romney signed in with his pen, and that he did this knowingly.

That’s why when he got caught, he and his mafia tried to pretend that judges had forced him to do it.

More fundamentally, you do not seem to understand that the entire line of argument you’re using is precluded by the form of government framed by our state and federal Constitutions.

“Independent authority?”  Independent of whom?  Of the People?  Sorry. Unconstitutional.

Independent of the three constitutional branches of government which the People have established?  Nope.  Unconstitutional

To create a fourth branch of government you’d first have to amend the Federal Constitution so that Massachusetts can dump the required “republican form of government” with exactly three branches.

Lawmaking authority is vested in the elected representatives in the Legislature.

The Chief Executive is the “Supreme Executive Magistrate.”  He has supreme authority over the entire Executive Branch.  Constitutional amendments over the years have chipped away at the MA governor’s authority by making the Treasurer, Secretary of State, Atty. General, etc. elected rather than appointed.

But neither Romney nor the Legislature had any legal authority to create an independent branch of government not under the “Supreme Executive Magistrate”: governor Willard Mitt Romney himself.

This is a routine deception that MA politicians use to fool the people.  They’ve created dozens of “independent” agencies and authorities which could only be independent if they are outside the boundaries of the Constitution!  They then place their friends, families and campaign donors in powerful, overpaid positions, unanswerable to the People, because they are called “independent.”  This illegal trick is also used to insulate the governor and legislators against democratic blowback for unpopular policies as well as corruption.

Bottom line, Tim: there’s no room for “independent authorities” in the America form of government.  That’s what constitutions are for.  To whatever degree Romney’s health care authority actually is “independent,”  it is illegal  – just like the Gay, Bisexual and Lesbian Youth Commission “established” by the MA Legislature, just like the Federal Reserve Bank.  And Romney knows it.  It is no more legal than the Mafia.  The Mafia has no constitutional authority to make laws, regulations, shape public policy or use taxpayers’ money for carrying out murder.

It’s just like when state legislators create separate “off-budget” expenditures as a trick to subvert a constitutional requirement for a balanced budget.  Of course it’s still part of the budget, but they call it “off-budget” to justify their criminal subversion of the rule of law.

Romney literally signed the death warrant for countless babies.  He knew exactly what he was doing.  It is just that simple.

John

How can Jay Sekulow justify his support for pro-abort/pro-gay agenda Mitt Romney?

Friday, April 24th, 2009

Today, I sent out the following e-mail to Jay Sekulow, the head of American Center for Law and Justice, and copied many of the top conservative and Christian pro-family, media legal and political leaders in the country.

Listening to Sekulow on his national radio show portray himself as a pro-family, pro-life, rule of law conservative Christian, I had to ask him this question. I know that he received the e-mail since I sent it to his private e-mail address as well as his assistant’s. We’ll see if he has enough honesty and integrity to answer my very direct and pertinent question. After all, Sekulow is one of the top “Christian” “conservative” leaders in the country and a huge Romney supporter and Romney, after winning the CPAC straw poll last month (with a whopping 21% of the vote), is the leading GOP presidential candidate in 2012.

Jay,

As as the head of the American Center for Law and Justice (ACLJ), you claim to stand for and defend the rule of law, separation of powers, religious liberty, and the sanctity of human life and the natural human family. In fact, you have raised tens of millions of dollars promoting these causes (much of which you have used to enrich yourself and your family.

Yet, you endorsed (and continue to support) the man for President of the United States (Mitt Romney) who:

    • Established abortion with a $50 co pay as a “healthcare benefit” (AFTER his supposed “pro life conversion”) in his socialist healthcare plan that was endorsed by Hillary, Teddy K, and Planned Parenthood.
    • Appointed a Planned Parenthood member to his healthcare advisory board (AFTER his supposed “pro-life conversion”) and no pro-life appointed representative.
    • Illegally instituted same sex “marriage” without an accompanying legal statute to fulfill an earlier promise to the Log Cabin Republicans not to oppose same sex “marriage” in return for their endorsement? (There was no “court order” as Romney has falsely asserted as you know.)
    • Boosted government funding for pro-homosexuality indoctrination of schoolchildren, and refused to order his education officials to enforce parents’ legal right to protect their own children from unwanted indoctrination about homosexuality.
    • Forced Catholic Charities to place children with homosexual couples or go out of business (which they ultimately did) even though he was not required to do so by law.
    • Forced Catholic Hospitals to provide the abortion pill claiming that he was required by law to do so even though Mike Dukakis admitted there was no law that existed which required Romney to do so.
    • Opposes a ban on homosexual scoutmasters.
    • Favors sexual orientation “anti-discrimination” laws for homosexuals, lesbians, bi-sexuals and transgenders.
    • Opposed the Bush Tax Cuts.
    • Raised taxes and fees by over $900 million as governor which has destroyed the Massachusetts economy.
    • Implemented a socialist healthcare plan endorsed by Planned Parenthood that in the words of the Wall St. Journal is in “intensive care” whose costs are estimated to more than double and which the Cato Institute and Boston Globe has said is a total failure.
    • Lied about seeing his father march with MLK, being a hunter “pretty much (his) whole life,” and about being endorsed by the NRA in 2002.

Jay, how can you continue to claim every day on your national show on Salem Radio that you are championing the very Christian and conservative values, institutions and causes that Mitt Romney (the man you endorsed for president of the United States of America and continue to support) achieved so much success in destroying?

Isn’t it time Jay, that you come clean with the millions of Christians you speak to every day and who donate millions to your organization and apologize to them for portraying the Founding Father of sodomy “marriage” and the 50 dollar tax-subsidized abortion as a pro-family rule of law conservative and retract your endorsement of Romney and any support for him in the future?

I think they deserve to know the truth.

Don’t you Jay?

Steve Deace takes on Tom Minnery of Focus on the Family

Wednesday, April 1st, 2009

My friend Steve Deace has written a very fine piece on World Net Daily. If you are one of those who oppose abortion except cases “of rape or incest” you should definately read this. It might make you reconsider your position.

How about ‘focus on our principles’?

With those of us who consider ourselves voters with a biblical worldview on the defensive more so than ever before in American history, a discussion is happening within our ranks about principles versus pragmatism that is long overdue.

Recently on my radio program, this vital discussion was given another forum when I had the chance to interview Tom Minnery, the longtime head of the political arm of Focus on the Family. (A podcast of that interview can be found here.)

I played for Mr. Minnery a clip of a 1990 vow his boss, Dr. James Dobson, made when he said for as long as “God lets me live” he’ll never vote for any man or woman “who will kill one innocent baby.” I asked Mr. Minnery if Dr. Dobson had violated his heroic pledge by supporting phony pro-lifer John McCain for president after previously saying he could not support him, and why shouldn’t voters of biblical conscience return to the standard Dr. Dobson so courageously articulated.

My Letter to the Salem Radio Executive Team Regarding Their Threats to Cancel My Show For Telling The Truth (And Their Response)

Sunday, March 15th, 2009

To: Stu Epperson (Chairman of the Board of Salem Radio)
CC: Ed Atsinger III, Joe Davis, Russ Hauth, Richard Trejo, Robert Mesop Jr.
March 1, 2009
Re: Contractual issues and Christian integrity

Dear Mr. Epperson:

In your letter dated February 23, 2009, your interpretation of my contractual agreement with New Inspiration Broadcasting Company Inc., a subsidiary of Salem Communications Corporation is problematic and confusing.

From the beginning of my discussions with Salem Radio executives that led to the decision to offer me a contract I made it abundantly clear that I am among the rapidly growing number of Christians, activists, radio hosts, pundits, legal experts and pastors who are profoundly skeptical of the ethics and integrity of various prominent personalities with whom Salem Radio and Townhall.com have working agreements. Included on this list are Jay Sekulow, Hugh Hewitt, Michael Medved, Tom Minnery and Tony Perkins. These Salem programming personalities were all given irrefutable proof that former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney:

• lied brazenly to disguise his direct, proactive role in the illegal creation of homosexual “marriage”;
• lied brazenly to avoid responsibility for signing into law government-funded abortion-on-demand;
• cited a non-existent law to force Catholic Charities to give foster and adoptive children to homosexuals even when normal mother-father families were lined up to take them;
• boosted funding for pro-homosexuality brainwashing of children starting in kindergarten;
• lied about the law, over-ruled his own commissioner of health and illegally ordered Catholic Hospitals to issue abortion pills, crushing religious freedom;
• unconstitutionally refused to enforce the parents’ rights laws for his entire time as governor — even when a father was in hand-cuffs and in jail for defending his 5-year old son from pro-homosexuality indoctrination in a public kindergarten under Mitt Romney’s legal authority.

In discussions with Salem executives on numerous occasions I have frankly mentioned these things about Romney and the taking of bribes and lying on his behalf by persons heard on Salem Radio. I told these Salem executives bluntly that if Salem put my program on the air I would talk about these things and that Salem management would not muzzle me. I have also published these things in articles at your subsidiary Townhall.com both before and after the signing of this contract. Obviously, if your subsidiary Townhall.com chose to publish such criticisms, both before and after the signing of the contract, no sane person could conclude that the contract prohibits the dissemination of these sad facts via Salem Communications media.

In light of the entire history of Salem executives having been informed in advance, and of your subsidiary having published the very kind of information to which they now object, am I now to believe that those same Salem executives now interpret our contract as an agreement on my part to participate in an ongoing deception of Salem audiences?

The Salem executives with whom I spoke on many occasions had many opportunities to say that a Salem contract would compel me to betray Salem Radio listeners and Townhall.com readers as other Salem radio personalities have. Instead, they stated their commitment to the same Christian values that I hold dear. They expressed only affirmation and respect for my firm commitment not to deny their audience the truth that they are entitled to hear on Christian radio.

On this basis, one could only understand the clause in the contract “not to take any action to discredit, dishonor, or otherwise disparage Station or Licensee, its subsidiaries, affiliates, or affiliated entities” to mean that I was agreeing to be truthful, forthright and honest, at all times respecting Salem Radio audiences’ right to know the truth.

In fact, would not any reasonable and honest person say that taking bribes and/or lying on Salem radio stations and at Townhall.com to cover up a particular politician’s responsibility for homosexual “marriage” and adoption, funding the daily killing of babies, and the pro-homosexuality brainwashing of children brings extreme discredit and dishonor and disparages Salem Communications?

In contrast to Hewitt, Sekulow, Perkins, Medved and Focus On the Family, I held strong to the moral and spiritual values and integrity that your audience expects from Salem and its companies. And while Sekulow, Hewitt, Perkins, Medved and others are furious that I have not joined them in their deception, my refusal to do so has brought credit and honor to Salem, as shown by the listeners’ comments I receive on a regular basis. Here are several which I grabbed hastily:

“…It is great to hear someone speaking the truth!…”

“…After listening to your show w/Dr. Alan Keyes, that BEL linked to earlier this month, I was encouraged to hear your passion for truth and would like to be able to listen to your shows from CDs and my Mp3 player. I hope you have a solution for me!!!!…”

“…It is becoming increasingly difficult to discern the truth of information on a daily basis. While the mainstream ‘conservatives’ treat us like idiots, thank you for putting it all (and yourself) out there on the line…”

Are you now saying that you want me to forsake my commitment to bring credit and honor to Salem Communications and instead to begin cheating your audience of the truth that I had been unreservedly offering at the time Salem executives entered into this contract with me? Are you now asking me to betray, discredit and dishonor Salem Communications — as Hugh Hewitt, Tony Perkins, Jay Sekulow, Focus On the Family and Michael Medved have done? Are you now asking me to betray the commitments that God requires — as Hugh Hewitt, Tony Perkins, Jay Sekulow, Focus On the Family and Michael Medved have done?

I have fully complied with our written contract and I suggest that the problem lies not with me, but with those who have not. The above-mentioned Salem personalities have brought Salem Communications and its affiliates into gross disrepute among Christians, social conservatives and the overwhelmingly pro-life, anti homosexual marriage Salem radio audiences. Apparently, they have also harmed Salem stockholders.

My hope is that this letter was sent to me in error. If so, please know that I will fight with you on the side of truth, and that I hope that you in turn, will do the same with me.

Your Brother in Christ,
Gregg Jackson

1The word of the LORD came to me: 2 “Son of man, speak to your people and say to them, If (a watchman) 3…blows the trumpet and warns the people, 4then if anyone who hears the sound of the trumpet does not take warning…his blood shall be upon his own head.
6 But if the watchman…does not blow the trumpet…and the sword comes and takes any one of them, but his blood I will require at the watchman’s hand.
7 “So you, son of man, I have made a watchman for the house of Israel. Whenever you hear a word from my mouth, you shall give them warning from me. 8 If I say to the wicked, O wicked one, you shall surely die, and you do not speak to warn the wicked to turn from his way, that wicked person shall die in his iniquity, but his blood I will require at your hand. 9 But if you warn the wicked to turn from his way, and he does not turn from his way, that person shall die in his iniquity, but you will have delivered your soul. — Ezekiel 33

Update: Salem’s Response

*I received another letter shortly thereafter telling me that by “speaking negatively” about Jay Sekulow that my programming was being taken off the air:

“…On March 1,2009, during your program on KDAR(FM), you and your invited guests again made negative remarks about Jay Sekulow as well as other Salem programmers including Focus on the Family. These remarks constituted a breach of the Time Brokerage Agreement. Therefore, as a result of this breach, New Inspiration Broadcasting Company, Inc. is hereby terminating the Time Brokerage Agreement, and the “Truth and Hope with Gregg Jackson” will no longer air on KDAR (FM), with the March 1,2009 program as the last broadcast under the Time Brokerage Agreement.

Very Truly Yours,
Salem Communications Corporation, Robert B. Mesrop Jr. Corporate Cousel.”

And there you have it. I was essentially thrown off the air on a “Christian” radio station not for lying or slandering any of my fellow Salem hosts and programmers, but for telling the truth about them, which, evidently, Salem “Christian” Radio considers to be “negative.”

Now everybody knows where Salem “Christian” Radio stands.

They have made their decision to continue taking money from those who took blood money from Mitt Romney and who have continued to cover up his toxic left wing legacy as they continue to mislead millions of Christians in their audience by portraying Romney as a pro-family, pro-life conservative.

And they have chosen to get rid of me—the one host who was telling Christians the truth on Salem Radio about the wolves in sheep’s clothing.

By the way, it’s important to note that nobody from Salem Radio ever disputed anything I have ever said on the air.

No doubt the mission of my program “Truth and Hope” (“to advance truth no matter where it takes us”) is incompatible with Salem Radio’s overall vision and agenda which is decidedly different.

I sincerely pray for Stu Epperson (who happens to be a staunch Mitt Romney supporter), Ed Atsinger and the rest of the Salem management team.

They are playing a dangerous game with eternal consequences.

Can’t say that I didn’t warn them…

Here are the last 2 hours of my last show that Salem considered to be “negative” and a violation of my contract. Listen for yourself to decide if what I and my guests said “dishonored” or brought “disrepute” on Salem Radio in any way.

“Conservative” David Horowitz: “Conservatives Need to Shut About (Obama’s) Birth Certificate”

Tuesday, December 9th, 2008

Former 60s radical leftist, neo-con David Horowitz had this to say in an article in Townhall.com today:

The continuing efforts of a fringe group of conservatives to deny Obama his victory and to lay the basis for the claim that he is not a legitimate president is embarrassing and destructive. The fact that these efforts are being led by Alan Keyes, an unhinged demagogue on the political fringe who lost a senate election to the then unknown Obama by 42 points should be a warning in itself.

Apparently it’s not only “conservative” to support “Republicans” who are pro-abortion, pro-same sex “marriage,” pro-amnesty and anti-free speech but according to Horowitz, it’s now “conservative” to ignore the Constitution’s specific requirement that the POTUS be a United States citizen.

Horowitz took a cheap shot at Dr. Keyes and should be ashamed of himself.

Horowitz also fails to recognize that there are millions of Americans who are outraged that Obama still has not produced a valid birth certificate.

According to Horowitz, if you are one of them who still believe that our elected officials should abide by the Constitution, I guess you are “an unhinged demagogue on the political fringe” right along side Dr. Keyes.

I thought that constitutions and the rule of law meant something to conservatives.

I guess not.
