Honoring A Brave Soldier Who Made The Ultimate Sacrifice
This week on my show I had the pleasure and honor of speaking with Debbie Lee, the mother of the first Navy Seal to die in Iraq, Marc Alan Lee. Debbie, who lost her husband 14 years ago and her son Marc Alan in Iraq, is one of the most inspiring Christians with whom I have ever come in contact. She is the spokesperson for Move America Forward and is taking part in a cross country tour to “Honor the Heroes at the Holidays.”
You can contribute by buying a gift for a soldier(s) here.
We actually honored Marc Alan Lee a few years back after he received the silver and bronze star. Those who knew him described him as fearless. Here is what one man who served with Marc had to say about him:
I was one of Marc’s instructors and believe that in the short amount of time I had to know him, I got to know him well, not best friends by anymeans but as close as the instructor/student guidlines we have to follow allow. Marc was an exceptional student, but the thing that stood out most to me was his ability to observe when things were b.s. and when things were done for honest reasons. That being said, I believe that Marc believed in the cause and ultimately in the SEAL Teams, he gave me hope for the future of the Teams and didn’t let me down. I wish that every student I put through training had his dedication and his ability to understand what it meant to be a part of the team. He is a hero and is already missed greatly.
And here is the audio if you want to hear our tribute to Marc in 2006. His story is an amazing story of courage, valor and scrifice that should remind us all how fortunate we are that brave warriors like Marc are willing to make the ultimate sacrifice. Audio Link
