5 Questions Mitt Romney Should Be Asked on His Current “No Apologies” Book Tour
1. Mr. Romney, you claim to be pro-life. How do you reconcile that with the fact that you signed $50 tax-subsidized abortions into law in your quasi-socialist healthcare plan that was endorsed by Hillary Clinton, Ted Kennedy and Planned Parenthood 3 years AFTER your supposed “pro-life conversion?”
2. Mr. Romney, you claim that you are opposed to same-sex “marriage.” Why then, as governor, did you claim that the Massachusetts Supreme Court ordered you to issue marriage licenses to homosexual couples when in fact the court themselves, in their majority opinion, admitted that they could not order any of the other two branches to do anything and that if the current marriage law were to be changed to accommodate same-sex “marriages,” that the legislature themselves would have to change the law (which as you know they have STILL never done)? Why do you continue to speciously assert that you had no role in illegally instituting same-sex “marriage” in Massachusetts when you were the one who unilaterally, illegally and unconstitutionally authorized the alterations to and issuance of marriage licenses to same-sex couples?
3. Mr. Romney, Tony Perkins of the Family Research Council has called you a “friend to the pro-family movement.” And James Dobson has said that you are a “man pro-family voters could support.” Yet, as governor you boosted funding for homosexual education starting in Kindergarten, oppose a ban on homosexual scoutmasters, and support passage of the Employment Non-Discrimination Act which would force churches and other religious organizations to hire homosexuals and transvestites or face criminal fines and prosecution. Is this a record and positions of somebody who claims to be “pro-family?”
4. Mr. Romney, you claim to be a fiscal conservative. How do you square this claim with the fact that as governor you instituted a quasi-socialist healthcare plan that the Wall St. Journal and Cato Institute have both called a total failure in addition to raising taxes and fees by close to a billion dollars with has destroyed the Massachusetts economy?
5. Mr. Romney, you supported McCain-Feingold “campaign finance reform,” McCain-Kennedy Amnesty, and the majority of McCain-Lieberman Global Warming “Cap and Trade” Bill. Are these conservative positions in your opinion?
